Nikah

Allah says in the Qur’an:

“And among His signs is that He created for you from yourselves spouses that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy.” (Surah Ar-Rum 30:21)

We pray that Allah blesses your forthcoming marriage and grants you a life filled with faith, love and barakah. To assist us in arranging your Nikaah efficiently, please carefully review the following requirements and guidelines.

Nikah guidelines

  • We require the following details 14 days before the date of the Nikaah.
  • The bride and groom must both be over 18 years old, proof will be required.
  • Please respond alongside the requested information carefully and exactly as you want the details to appear on the certificate. 
  • Once we have all the details required we will issue a proof for you to check, this will be done by email only and at least 7 days before the date of Nikaah. Please check carefully and ensure all details are accurate as any errors / amendments will incur a £35 administration charge.
  • After you confirm all the details are correct three certificates will be printed and brought by the Imaam on the day of the Nikaah, two are for the family to keep and one will be retained by Muhammadi Masjid, please note if needed you will only be supplied with a copy of the original kept by the Masjid and there will be a fee payable.You must stick to agreed timings as the Imams have other duties to attend to.
  • It is your responsibility to make arrangements and discuss any fee payable to the Imaam directly with the Imaam of your choice.  
  • There is a £200 fee for the Nikaah payable to Muhammadi Masjid. This must be paid in full before we start drafting the Nikaah certificate, payment by bank transfer only, please use name of groom as the reference. Once payment has been received and we have started working on your Nikaah certificate, there is no cancellation or refund.
  • The taking of pictures or videos is strictly prohibited within the masjid and its grounds.
  • No food or drinks other than dates and or mithai are allowed inside the masjid.
